Creatives behind In Clay, Rebecca Simmonds (book and lyrics) and Jack Miles (music and lyrics), talk with us about their journey in the creation of the musical and the highlights and challenges in the creation of the show.
In Clay is based on a true story, this “heartfelt, charming new musical” (Everything Theatre) is told from a quaint Parisian apartment in the late 1930s. Marie-Berthe Cazin, a ceramist in her early 40s, eagerly awaits her estranged childhood friend, and now celebrated artist, Henrietta Tirman. Her imminent arrival pushes Marie to reflect on the great joys and sorrows of a life devoted to making art.
